Eigentlich sollte das Mark Ronson mit Amy Winehouse im Schlepptau erledigen. Das ist aus offensichtlichen Gründen schnief gegangen. Also suchte man nach einem Interpreten mit weißer Weste statt weißer Nase. Man wurde da ganz naheliegend fündig: Jack White, der ja seineszeichens in jüngster Zeit Erfahrung sammeln dürfte wie das ist, wenn Fußballstadien von Menschenmassen seine Melodien gröhlen, bekam den Auftrag.
Ein wenig angstvoll muss man dann erfahren, dass er dabei von Alicia Keys unterstützt wird. Rausgekommen ist ein wahnwitzig bretterndes Pfund von James-Bond-Song. Und auch die Angst verfliegt schnell: Jacks kehlig-quieckige Gesangstechnik ergänzt sich ganz wunderbar mit der tiefen, vollen Stimmgewalt von Keys. Der einzige Wermutstropfen – die vielleicht etwas zu saubere Produktion – löst sich dann sogar auch noch in Luft auf. Dank des trockenen Arrangements, das keine Fragen zulässt. Großer Wurf.
